Why I Ran for Fox Waterway Agency

i have a solemn interest in what is best for the Chain of Lakes from both a boater’s point of view as well as a riverfront homeowner.

We are living in a very interesting period and are facing a large amount of challenges and changes from both social and economic sides of the spectrum. In my opinion, this puts the FWA in an interesting position while boaters are spending more of their hard-earned money enjoying what the chain of lakes has to offer, the state and other governing bodies have subsided the amount of resources that they provide to aid the FWA in funding.

Additionally, I feel the same pain as everyone else as we have all experienced increased flooding over the past few years even further reducing the amount of time we as boaters have been able to spend out on the water.

i also wanted to make sure that every boater who uses this chain of lakes and buys a sticker to keep it open has a voice.

I HAD AND STILL HAVE ALOT TO LEARN AND WELCOME THE CHANCE TO DO THIS BY LEARNING FROM PAST FWA EXPERIENCES AND KNOWLEDGE BASE AS WELL AS FUTURE EXPERIENCES WITH BOTH THE FWA AS WELL AS THE CONSTITUENTS THAT WE REPRESENT.

I hate the F word as well

The flooding issue is real, and seems to get worse every year. Its bad enough not to be able to boat, but the homeowners and business on the Chain of Lakes that are affected by this on a yearly basis is terrible. I wanted to be involved first hand assuring that we were being as proactive as possible to try and address this issue.

I care about what you think

One of the main things I want to do on my venture as a Director is ensure that both the homeowners and boaters that use our system feel that their concerns are heard and addressed. The FWA system is funded almost completely percent by sticker sales and in my opinion our users are our absolute greatest asset.

I had many of the same thoughts that I hear and read frequently from users such as the FWA doesn’t care about the users and that the FWA doesn’t let people know what is going on. I want to be your voice.
